Every week I write a letter. The letters are short essays for those who seek more depth than a hectic and distracted world usually allows. They often begin with a change in the season or a question that does not yield an immediate answer.
They are free to read, and I want to keep them that way.
Your contribution makes room for deep work
A subject may present itself weeks in advance. I read, research and allow it to settle before trying to give it words. As a member, you help make possible the time and attention this work asks and contribute to a sustained rhythm of reading and writing.
A monthly essay for sustained reflection
Every month I write a longer essay about a question that asks for more attention than a weekly letter can hold.

€5 per month
You receive one longer essay each month, rooted in the philosophical and contemplative traditions that sustain my work.
In these essays I explore questions that deserve more attention than is possible in a weekly letter. A public example, The broken world and the answer machine, is freely available.
Do you speak Dutch?
The monthly lectures and forest gatherings are currently held in Dutch. If you speak Dutch, view the Dutch offering, which also includes these forms of participation.
No extras demanding your attention
There is no app, feed or continuous stream of messages. You receive the weekly letter and one longer essay each month.
A missed essay does not need to catch up with you. The next month arrives in its own time.
